El Mal Querer

The modern epic: Where centuries-old flamenco meets the future

“Chapter 1: Augurio.” – Immerse yourself in the album that shook the music world in 2018. “El Mal Querer” is more than just a pop record; it’s an audiovisual revolution, a literary work, and a sonic boundary-crossing adventure in eleven chapters.

Based on the anonymous 13th-century Occitan novel "Flamenca," Rosalía tells the dramatic story of a toxic love – from the first dark premonition through burning jealousy to final liberation. With this album, Rosalía proved that tradition and radical modernity need not be opposites.

A must-see for lovers of sophisticated pop culture:

The iconic cover – Rosalía as an angelic, almost sacred figure – perfectly captures the aesthetic power of the project. On vinyl, “El Mal Querer” becomes a ritual experience: the sonic dynamics between the fragile a cappella moments and the powerful beats are fully realized on an analog system.
