What began in 1974 as a "Rustical" (a rustic musical) quickly developed into an undisputed cult phenomenon. With "Der Watzmann ruft" (The Watzmann Calls), Wolfgang Ambros, Joesi Tauchen, and Manfred Prokopetz created a parody of the Alpine drama that continues to delight generations. It's a story about the mountain's allure, the "Bua" (boy), the farmhands, and the eternal quest for the summit – all wrapped up in brilliant dialect rock.

Listening to the Watzmann, you feel the cold wind of the Alps and hear the echo in the valleys. It's the perfect symbiosis of rock music and alpine folk theater – sometimes funny, sometimes dark, but always authentic. A must-see for every fan of Austropop and for anyone looking for music with character and a story.
